Please Don't Go. 8

Justin}

I barge into Caitlin's room. I look around, and I don't see her. "Caitlin!"
She emerges from the bathroom. "Oh, hi Justin."
I walk over to her. I try not to be too angry, but it's really hard. "Why are you so intent on ruining my life?"
Caitlin laughs a little, then gets serious. "Because you ruined mine."
"I didn't do shit to you."
"You broke up with me."
"We both agreed to break up."
"Well I didn't want to."
"Then why didn't you say that?!"
"I didn't feel like it."
"You're crazy."
"Maybe."
I clench my fists. "Caitlin, I'm warning you..."
"What are you gonna do, Justin?" She smirks. "I have the tape, I will release it to the public if I need to, and you can't do anything about it."
"I swear, if ANYONE sees that-"
"Whatever, Justy. You don't scare me." She turns and walks back into her bathroom.
I follow her in there. "I'm serious!"
"So am I." She spins around, grabs my shoulders, and kisses me. She leans us both against the shower door.
I'm frozen. I forgot what a good kisser she is. I completely forget what's going on and kiss back.
All of a sudden I hear a gasp from the doorway. "Justin!"
I push Caitlin away from me and see Cassidy standing in the doorway, shocked.
I cough, and straighten my hat a little. "Cassidy, it's not what it looks like."
"Really?! Because it looks like you're making out with your ex-girlfriend!"
I sigh a little. "Okay, maybe it is what it looks like. But she kissed me, I didn't kiss her!"
She's furious. "Yeah, that's what they all say."
Caitlin shrugs. "It's true, they do all say that."
"Nobody asked you!" Cassidy snaps at her. She turns to leave.
I grab her arm. "Cass, please! I promise, it was nothing!"
Cassidy yanks her arm away. "Justin! You used to date her! And you were kissing her! It's obviously not nothing!" She has tears in her eyes.
"Please! I swear on my life!"
"Then I expect you to drop dead soon." She shakes her head and walks out of the room.
"Cassidy, wait!"
Before I can run after her, Caitlin grabs me. "Forget her, Justy-Wusty. You have me." She moves close to me.
I shove her away. "This is all your fault! Get away from me!"
I run out of the room. I hurry to Cassidy's room and pound on the door. "CASSIDY! OPEN THE DOOR!"
"GO AWAY! I HATE YOU!" she screams at me from inside the room.
"Cassidy, no! Get out here right now! We need to talk about this!"
"NO!"
I give up. I turn and walk to Christian's room. I knock weakly on the door.
"Come in!"
I open the door and shuffle in.
Christian looks up at me. "Dude, what's wrong? I heard everyone screaming at each other, so I thought it was best to stay out of it."
"Caitlin."
"Oh."
I sigh and sit down in an armchair. "I was talking to her, and then she kissed me, and it was pretty intense, and Cassidy saw."
"Oh no."
"Yeah. Now she hates me. I think I'm gonna tell her."
"About the tape?"
"No, about the magical unicorn. Yes about the tape, you idiot!" I roll my eyes.
"Hey now, no need to get sassy." He gives me a look. "But you need to tell her."
"I know. But she won't talk to me! She won't even open the door!"
"Come on." He stands up and leaves. We go to Cassidy's room, and Christian knocks on the door.
"GO AWAY, JUSTIN!"
"It's not Justin, it's Christian!" he calls.
Cassidy opens the door, and before she can react to me standing there, Christian shoves me into the room, the shuts the door.
"Get out."
"Cassidy, please, let me explain. I'm begging you."
"Fine. Explain." She sits down in a chair, and I sit in the chair beside her.
"Okay. Don't judge me, okay?"
"Whatever."
I sigh. I really don't want to tell her this. "Alright, well, when Caitlin and I were dating, we, uhm, ya know. And we kinda, sorta, taped it..."
"A sex tape?"
"Yeah. And then, when we broke up, she got really angry, and kinda flipped out. Once I got famous, she got even angrier. Then the next thing I knew, she was saying that she was gonna put it on Youtube, or give it to some paparazzi or something. I had to beg and beg and beg her not to, and she almost did. But at the last minute she decided not to. I had to pay her. It wasn't good."
Cassidy looks at me with big eyes. "Justin, I'm sorry, but then why did you-"
"Let me finish! Christian was telling me that she was thinking about giving it out. She hated that I was with you. She thinks that I need to get back with her. But I don't want to. And when I tell her that, she threatens to give out the tape. So Christian told her to give it to him, but he was secretly gonna destroy it once he got it, but she wouldn't give it to him. And then he told me that I needed to tell you, and I didn't want to. So I went to talk to Caitlin about it, try and get her to just get rid of it, and then she kissed me. It really was nothing, I swear."
She's quiet, looking down at the bed.
"Cass?"
She swallows and sighs. "I believe you."
"Thank you SO much. I was worried you wouldn't believe me. I'm sorry."
"But all the magazines and interveiws and t.v specials say that you want to wait until marriage. Why would you lie about that?"
"Everyone expects me to mess up, be like all the other screw-up child stars. I want to prove them wrong. And if I told them that I'd already had sex, then they would be right."
"I see."
"I'm so sorry."
"It's okay. I understand." Cassidy stands up. "I'm so sorry you have to go through this."
"Yeah," I say, nodding. "Me too."
"But I have one question. I mean, it's off subject, but I feel like I need to ask it."
"Anything."
"Are we dating?"
I stand up too. "Why do you ask that?"
"I don't know. I really like you, and we've kissed...a lot... and I think you like me too, but I'm not sure, and when we were on stage last night, during Overboard, I don't know if it was just performing, but I thought there was some chemistry, and then after I got off stage I was thinking about that and I got upset and Christian said that you loved me too but you couldn't tell me and then I was still really upset and then this whole thing happened and I'm just wondering-"
I pull her close to me by the waist and kiss her furiously and passionately, cutting her off midsentence. I can tell she's shocked at first, but then she starts kissing back. Her body folds into mine, and then I lay her on the bed and climb on top of her, still kissing. Ten minutes pass, then twenty, then thirty, then an hour. God, I could kiss her forever. Her lips are like... I can't even explain it.
Finally, I pull away from her, and gaze into her eyes. "I love you, Cassidy."
She smiles this incrediably happy smile that I realize I want to see for the rest of my life. "I love you too, Justin."
I kiss her again, this time with even more passion, if possible. This time its more frantic, and I'm thinking that we might be moving a little too fast. It wasn't this fast with Caitlin. We were together for at least six months before it happened. But with Cassidy it feels more right, more natural. But I don't want to rush into things with Cassidy. What if something happens? I don't have anything with me. I don't want her to...
I pull away. "Cassidy. We're moving too fast. I don't want to rush this."
She nods, breathing a little heavily. "I understand."
"Good. I just don't want this to be the same as with other girls."
"Other girls?"
Oops. "Well, uhm, I just mean-"
"You've gone that far with girls besides Caitlin? I'm fine with that - she's a hoe, she's probably done it with a bunch of guys - but other girls?"
"No, I don't mean other girls. I just meant as with Caitlin, but I didn't want to say her name, since she's not really your favorite person." Nice save, Bieber.
"Oh, okay." She bites her lip a little. "Uh, you can get off me now."
I smile. "No thanks, I'm pretty comfortable here." I lay on top of her, squishing her.
"Aagh! Justin! Get off! You're crushing me!" Cassidy giggles and tries to push me off of her.
"There's too much gravity! I'm being pressed to the Earth! I can't get up! We'll be stuck like this forever!" I laugh.
"No joke, Justin, get off me! I have to pee!"
"Too bad, you'll have to hold it."
"If you don't get off me, I'm going to pee all over you."
I quickly roll off of her and scramble to get up. "Okay. Sorry. No need to urinate on people."
She giggles and gets up. She skips off to the bathroom, shutting the door behind her.
I smile to myself, then go over to her dresser and start opening drawers. I find socks, pajamas, t-shirts, sweatpants, and - jackpot. I slide a drawer open and peer inside. I pull out a lacy pink bra.
"Oh my God..."
I knew she shopped for awhile without me, but I didn't know this was what she bought. I'm so glad she bought these though. Just saying.
I put the bra back and pull out something black. Is that a thong?! It is! Oh my GOD, she has a thong!
I continue going through her stuff, but then stop when I hear something. "What are you doing?"
Dropping the pair of sexy purple panties I'm holding, I spin around and see Cassidy standing before me, an amused look on her face.
I awkwardly reach back to scratch my head, trying to look as innocent as possible. "Oh, uh, Cassidy, I uhm..."
She bursts out laughing. "You are such a dude!"
"Well, yeah, last time I checked..."
"I can't believe you were going through my underwear drawer!" She doesn't seem mad though, she seems like she thinks its funny.
"Okay, its not really that funny!"
"Yes, it is. You see, I KNEW you would look through my drawers. That's why I left. I've been watching the whole time to prove my theory right." She smiles triumphantly and crosses her arms.
"Oh yeah? And what theory would that be?" I take a few steps toward her.
"My theory that all guys wonder what undergarments girls wear. Most guys will gravitate towards the lacy thongs, some of them go for the regular panties, and they all pick up the bras. No matter who they are, they're suckers for the lacy bras, especially the bright colored and black ones. Black, red, baby blue, hot pink, purple, and green are the 'fan favorites'."
"So you've tested this before." Now I'm really close to her, my hands are lightly resting on her waist. I can feel the little smirk on my face. Not a mean one, a teasing one. Or at least that's what I'm hoping it is.
"Only once or twice."
"Then how do you have all this information?"
"My friends tested it, too." Her facial expression is screaming for me to pull her closer. I'm just teasing her right now, though. But I really, really, really want to kiss her.
"Mhm." I put my arm around her waist, and tilt her chin up with my other hand. I REALLY want to kiss her.
"I mean...I..." She's speechless. Perfect. This is my revenge for her sneaking up on me, using me as a little project.
I pull her really close to me, and put my mouth close to her ear. "Do you want me to kiss you, Cassidy?" I whisper.
"Uhm..."
I chuckle a little bit. I move close like I'm going to kiss her, and then... I scoop her up, tossing her over my shoulder.
"Aagh! Justin! Put me down!" she shrieks.
"Nope!" I run out of the room to the main part of the bus. We're parked somewhere so everyone can rest for awhile. Perfect.
"Justin! I'm not kidding!"
I hop off the bus. We're in a hotel parking lot. Why we don't just stay in the hotel, I don't know, but whatever. I look around, then race across the street. Cassidy screams.
I run into a Taco Bell. It's empty except for the people working there. I sit her down at a booth. "Okay. Let's stop here. I'm hungry."
Cassidy just looks at me, shaking her head. "You are so weird."
I smile at her. "Why thank you."

Please Don't Go. 7

Christian}

Oh my gosh. Is she crying? Why is she crying?
"Cass? What's wrong?" I sit next to her and put an arm around her shoulders.
"I! Love! Justin!" she says through sobs. "And! He! Doesn't! Love! Me! Back!"
I bite my lip, thinking about the tape. "Cassidy, Justin loves you. I know he does. But he won't say anything about it. He can't right now."
She looks up at me with shiny eyes and tears streaming down her cheeks. "Why?"
How can I tell her this? I can't. Justin has to tell her, its his problem. I can't tell her the truth. "I can't tell you."
Cassidy lets out a sob. "Just tell me, Christian! Just freaking tell me, dammit!" She stomps her foot a little bit.
"I'm sorry Cass! I can't tell you! It's not mine to tell!"
She stands up. "Then I'll ask him."
"He's not gonna tell you. He won't tell you till he's ready."
"Whatever. I'm out of here." She leaves the room.

The next day, I'm thinking about what Cassidy said, and I'm filled with anger. Caitlin's going to ruin Justin and Cassidy's realtionship, if there ever is one.
"Caitlin, give it to me."
My sister looks up at me innocently. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Hell you don't know what I'm talking about."
"I'm serious, Christian, I don't know."
"The tape, Caitlin! The freaking tape!"
She smirks. "Sorry, little brother. That's private property. For now."
"Caitlin, I'm not joking around. You'll hurt people! You'll hurt Justin, Cassidy, there's no way I'll ever talk to you again! And mom and dad will be dissappointed in you! You're on that tape too!"
"I know I am."
"Why are you such a psycho?!"
"Oh Christian. Psycho is such a harsh word. I prefer... no, psycho pretty much covers it, actually."
And with that, she slams the door in my face.

"Dude. You gotta tell Cassidy about the thing with Caitlin."
Justin shakes his head. "No way, man."
"Justin, dude!"
"What do you want me to do, Christian?! She thinks it hasn't happened yet! She believes all the magazines and crap!"
"Tell her the truth!"
"I can't do that!" He looks angry. "I was fine today! I've been in a good mood all day, besides Caitlin's bitch-fit this morning! And you just ruined it! Thanks!"
"Whatever, dude. But if you don't tell Cassidy, I will."
He glares at me. "You wouldn't dare."
I nod. "I would. She needs to know. She deserves to. She'll find out, and if it's not from you or me, it'll be from Caitlin."
I walk out.

Please Don't Go. 6

Cassidy}

The crowd's screaming, my adreanaline is pumping, and I'm ready. I've never really performed before. At least not for a crowd this size. What was I thinking? I take a deep breath, walk towards the front of the stage, and hold the microphone to my mouth.
"Hey guys!"
I can make out some "Hey!"s from the crowd.
"So, I'm new at this, and I'm a little nervous. So I'm just gonna sing some songs you guys might now, okay? Great. Now let's party!" I spin around, flipping my hair. I run over to the DJ and hand him my list of songs, whisper him instructions, and run back to the front of the stage.
I hear the opening beats, find my cue, and head right into Kiss It Goodbye by Hannah Montana. The sound people do their thing to make my voice all cool the first two lines.
"KISS IT GOODBYE! IF FEAR IS HOLDING YOU BACK! KISS IT GOODBYE! YOUR LITTLE PANIC ATTACK! KISS IT GOODBYE! I- I DID IT AND- AND IT'S OMG! I'M A DIFFERENT GIRL! KISS IT GOODBYE, EY-EY-EY! KISS IT GOODBYE, EY-EY-EY!" I belt out the words and hope for the best. The crowd has a pretty good reaction.
Then the song's over, and I go straight into Notice Me by Alexa Ray Joel. It's one of my favorite songs. Then another Hannah Montana song, Que Sera. This one's more fun.
I reach out into the crowd, touch some hands. They're acting like I'm famous. I see Justin standing off to the side, just out of the crowd's veiw, and I toss a wink in his direction. He grins.
After Que Sera, I plunge into Dancing With Tears In My Eyes by Ke$ha, and follow that with another one of her songs, Tik Tok. Then Misery Business by Paramore. And then Only Girl (In The World) by Rihanna, and then Pony (It's OK) by Erin McCarley. I pause after that one. I head to the back of the stage and grab a bottle of water. I mouth to Justin if I can do more than ten songs, and he nods enthusiastically. He mouths back that I can do as many as I want.
I nod to the DJ for the next song, Mine, by Taylor Swift. After that one, I hold up one finger to the crowd, telling them to hold on. I need to ask the DJ something.
"Is Iyaz still here?"
He nods.
"Will he do this song with me?" I point to a song on my list.
The DJ shrugs. "Ask him."
I ask one of the dancers if he'll go back and ask him, and shortly after, he returns with Iyaz. I tell him what song, and he smiles, nodding.
Then the DJ drops the beats, and Iyaz and I start jamming with Gonna Get This, another Hannah Montana song, this one featuring, who else? Iyaz, of course.
We both hit all our notes, and it comes out perfect.
"THIS BOY, THIS BOY, THIS BOY!" I dance around while I'm singing, having a great time. The song's over way too soon, and Iyaz gives me a hug, then heads back backstage.
I breath heavily. This is hard work. But I love it. I put the mic on a micstand and grab an acoustic guitar. "Alright, guys, I'm gonna play a song that I really like, it's by Miranda Lambert. Some of you might know it."
I swallow and start strumming. Justin's the only one who's heard me sing AND play this song. As I sing the first words to The House That Built Me, the nervousness fades away, and I immerse myself into the song. The arena is quiet while I sing it, and it's just me and the guitar. I strum the final chords, and the crowd goes wild. Then I play one more song with just the guitar, Saviour by Lights. Once again, the crowd freaks. I can't stop smiling.
And gesture to Justin if I can do one more song, and he nods.
I decide to close my set with a fun song. I quickly decide on Something Like A Party by the School Gyrls. The song sounds exactly like their recording, but with my voice, and I somehow manage to get all the words, everything, even with the backup singers.
And this concert is something like a party. It's crazy. Everyone's jumping and clapping and singing and screaming and cheering and I love it.
"I'M GONNA GIVE YOU WHAT YOU'VE BEEN MISSIN' AND I KNOW, I'M THE THING THAT YOU REALLY NEED!" I move all over the stage. It's the most fun I've had in ages.
The crowd goes nuts. I grin. Then I wave at the crowd, take a bow, blow a kiss, and wave again, then run off stage. I run to Justin and give him a hug. He spins me around.
"OH my GOD, Cassidy! You did great! That was amazing! Wonderful! I can't believe- OH MY GOSH!" He's grinning uncontrollably. "Holy CRAP!" He picks me up and spins me around again.
Scooter runs over. "Cassidy, that was incredible!"
Justin's jumping around. He slaps Scooter on the shoulder. "I told ya, didn't I?! I told you she was great!"
Scooter nods. "Yeah, you told me! Wow!" Then he gets a call and walks away.
Justin picks me up and hugs me again, then finally sets me down, and I see Caitlin glaring at me behind him. I smile sweetly at her and she turns angrily and stalks off. I hold back my laughter.
"Justin! Go warm up, you're on in twenty!" someone shouts from behind us.
Justin sighs and smiles at me. "I gotta go."
I nod. "Okay. Wait! Did the crowd like me? Like what were their reactions?"
He grins. "They loved you. We all did. Everyone back here. You should have seen the look on Scooter's face. He thought you were gonna be just good. He didn't expect you to be so extroardinarily awesome. But I knew you were. I told him."
"I know. Thanks. Now go get ready. You're gonna do great."
"Not as great as you."
"You're a professional, you'll do better. Don't argue with me. Now go!" I push him in the right direction.
He stops, smiling, and pulls me into a kiss. I smile through it, but then push him away. I smile at him again.
"Go."
"I'm going."
"JUSTIN! GET BACK HERE!" calls another person.
Justin rolls his eyes and leaves.
I sigh and walk back to the green room. Christian runs at me and tackles me in a hug.
"Cassidy! You were amazing!"
"Thanks, Christian," I reply, laughing.
He continues to tell me how awesome I was, and I continue thanking him.
"And you'll do even better with Justin."
Oh, right. I forgot I still have to sing Overboard with Justin. I cough. "Well, I'm kinda thirsty, so, I'm gonna go. And I might take a quick nap."
I walk past him and fall onto the couch, closing my eyes. I'm about to fall asleep when Christian shakes me. "CASSIDY! Wake up! You need to be on stage! It's time for Overboard!"
"Huh?" I jump up, fix my hair in the mirror, and run for the stage. A stage crew guy hands me my microphone. "Twenty seconds and you're on," he says.
I nod.
"Nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three..." He holds up fingers for two and one, then gives me a light push. As soon as I step onstage, the crowd shrieks.
I sing the words with feeling and passion. I think I really like Justin. No, I do really like Justin. But I don't think we're actually dating. Or are we? I honestly have no idea. My mind isn't really in the music as I sing.
Justin moves really close to me, putting his hand around my waist and pulling me close. He sings his part, I sing mine, he sings his, and I sing mine. It's very romantic. And then there's the final note, and the song is over. I wave at the crowd again and go backstage. I walk into the green room, where Christian's full of praise again. I collapse onto the couch. And I burst into tears.

Please Don't Go. 5

Justin}

"Come on, Cassidy, get up!" I shake Cassidy awake.
She yawns, then glares at me. "I was asleep."
"Yeah, I could tell. Now get up! We're in Texas." Tonight is my twelfe concert. I offered to take Cassidy home, but she said she wanted to stay on tour.
"Finally! I've been looking forward to Houston." She smiles. "Now get out so I can get dressed!" Laughing, she shoves me out the door.
I laugh and shake my head, then go sit on the couch. I'm still smiling. Christian looks at me funny.
"Dude. Are you dating her or something?"
"No, why?"
"You guys sure act like you're dating."
"No we don't."
"Whatever. But you'd better stop acting like that with her, or Caitlin'll be really pissed."
I sigh. "I know. But I really like her."
"Awww, thank you!" Caitlin glares at me as she enters. "She's a skank. You should be with me."
I cross my arms. "She is not a skank. She's beautiful and don't you ever call her that. You're just jealous."
"Yes, I'm jealous of an ugly slut who isn't going to achieve anything in her life." Caitlin laughs and rolls her eyes, sipping a glass of orange juice.
"Yeah, you're one to talk," Cassidy says as she struts in the room. She's wearing light blue denim short-shorts, a light pink plaid button down shirt that's rolled up to her elbows with a white tank top underneath, and brown suede cowboy boots. Her long blonde hair is pulled back in two pigtails and she's got on a white cowboy hat. She smiles and sits down in between me and Christian, almost in my lap. I grin and wrap my arms around her, pulling her onto my lap. She's not facing me, though, she's facing the room, much to my dismay.
"Shut up, bitch," spits Caitlin.
"Caitin! Watch it!" Christian says.
"Bite me." She grabs her phone and gets off the bus. Probably gonna go pout, I think.
Cassidy rolls her eyes and laughs. "What's up her butt?"
Christian and I both laugh. "No idea."

"Justin, we have a problem."
I turn and see Jessica Jarrel standing before me, looking sick. "What's wrong, Jess?"
"I'm gonna... I'm gonna..." Then she turns and throws up into a trash can.
"Oh my gosh, Jessica!" I hold back her hair as she contiues to throw up. "MOM!"
Mom comes running over. "What's- Oh my gosh!" She rushes over and hands Jessica some water. "Come with me, Jessica, you need to lie down." She leads Jessica away, and then Scooter calls me over.
"You wanna just have Sean be your opening act?"
I shake my head. "No way. We need more than that." I think for a second. "Wait. What about Cassidy?"
He looks skeptical. "Cassidy? As your opening act? No way, Justin. She doesn't have training-"
"She's good. No, scratch that, she's great. Come on, Scooter, trust me with this."
"Fine. Go get her. She's on in-" He checks his watch. "Fourteen minutes."
I nod, and run off. Cassidy's chilling with Christian in the green room watching t.v. "Cassidy. Come here."
"Yeah?" She gets up and walks over.
"You're gonna be my opening act."
"What?! No! No way! I can't get up there and sing in front of all those people!"
"Please, Cass! You can just do songs you know or whatever. And then you'll sing Overboard with me. Please. Just ten songs."
She sighs, and thinks about it. "Fine. Whatever."
"YES! Now go get dressed!" I shove her into Jessica's dressing room and she emerges about a minute later wearing white skinny jeans, a flowy purple tank top, and gold high heels. Her hair is straight and sleek, and she looks absolutely amazing. "Oh my gosh."
"What?"
I shake my head. "Nothing. You look great. Now come on, you're on in eight minutes."
She nods, looking nervous. She makes a list of songs she's gonna sing, and then it's time. She stands by the ramp, ready to go up. Ryan Good runs out on stage.
"Hey everybody! Slight change of plans. Jessica Jarrel is sick, so we have another singer for you! Her name's Cassidy King, and this is her first time performing! So let's give a warm welcome to CASSIDY!"
Cassidy takes a deep breath. "Give me the mic," she says. I hand her a sparkle-encrusted microphone, and she runs onstage.

Slipped Away - 1

This story is about my best friend. You probably know exactly who he is. But I know the real him. I don't know who he is. But I know who he was. Before he changed.
You see, my best friend is Justin Bieber. Or, was Justin Bieber. He's still my best friend, but I barely know him anymore.
And I hate it.
It used to be great. We were the best team, wrecking (innocent) havoic on the town. The terrible two. We were like Bonnie and Clyde, but not in love. It couldn't have been better.
Then he got noticed. I always knew he sang. He told me. I thought it was cute. But we both knew it wasn't anything serious. After all, he was destined to be a hockey player.
But when Scooter Braun started calling for him, everything changed. And not in a good way.
He got full of himself, arrogant. I told him, too. But he wouldn't listen. He was never a good listener. Stupid hard-headed boy.
I still remember the day. It wasn't even just one day. He was gradually slipping away from me. But then that one day was the one that woke me up for real. I had always known, but this day changed it all. But I should start at the beginning. Not the very beginning, of course. But far enough back that you'll understand. At least, I hope you do.

"Justin, don't! You'll kill yourself!"
The brown eyed boy laughs and shakes his head at me. "I'll be fine, Ari!" Then he takes off down the street.
I sigh and run after him. But he's on his skateboard, so he's faster. I watch in horror as he goes up the homemade ramp and flips. I can't even close my eyes. He goes down, and I don't see him anymore.
"JUSTIN!" I shriek, breaking into a sprint. I race toward him, as fast as I can. Please don't let him be hurt, I think.
Justin's laying on the ground, holding his arm. "Aw, crap." He frowns at his arm.
I kneel beside him. "Justin, are you okay?! I told you not to! Why don't you ever listen to me?!"
"I'm fine, my arms just a little- ow!" He winces in pain.
"Okay, come on. We need to get you home, or to a doctor, or somewhere. Oh God." I bite my thumb nail.
"Calm down, I'm not gonna die."
I help him up and pick up his skateboard, putting it under my arm. We begin walking down the street, back to my house.
Justin points to the skateboard with his good arm. "You know, one of these days, I'm gonna teach you to ride that."
I shake my head. "No way. I'll get hurt."
"Nahhh." He holds out the word, shaking his head. "I won't let you get hurt."
"Whatever. You'd probably let me fall and then point and laugh." I know its true. No matter how good of friends we are, if one of us gets hurt, we're gonna laugh. Except for now. But I tend to worry a lot.
We continue down the street. Justin's floppy brown hair keeps falling in his eyes, and he keeps having to flip it or shake it or whatever he does to get it our of his vision.
"Why don't you just cut your hair?"
"Cut my hair? Are you insane?! No way. Not even funny, Ariana."
I roll my eyes. He's too protective of his hair.

Justin pokes the cast with his pencil. "I hate this thing."
"Then you shouldn't have done the flip! I warned you." I look back at my book.
"If I didn't do it then Ryan wouldn't give me five dollars."
"You're an idiot, ya know that?" I shake my head at him, and he tugs on my ponytail. "What?"
He looks down at his shoes for a second, then back up at me, frowning slightly. "Are you mad at me?"
His question confuses me slightly. But then again, I'm thirteen. A lot of stuff confuses me. "Well, uhm, not really. Why would I be mad at you?"
"Cause I didn't listen to you."
"Dude, you never listen to me." I shrug. "It's no big deal."
He breaks into a grin. "Alright. Good."
