Cassidy}
"AGH! YOU'RE STEPPING ON MY HAIR!" Stephanie shrieks and starts hitting Kelly's ankle.
"OMG! I'm sorry, Steph!" Kelly picks her foot up and helps Steph up. "But why were you crawling around on the floor?"
"I was looking for my lipgloss, dummy!" Steph rolls her eyes and walks to the back seat of the bus. She plops down into the seat next to me. "Ohmygoodnessgracious, Cassidy. Can you believe that SOME PEOPLE are rude enough to step on someone's hair while they're looking for their lipgloss? Ugh!" She makes sure Kelly knows she's kidding and whips out her phone. "So, what's the first thing we do when we get to Florida?" She throws me a knowing look.
"Uh, go to our room?" We're on the way to camp in Florida, and we have about seven hours to go before we get there. We've been waiting for this trip for months, and its finally here. Last year was amazing, and we're sure this year is going to be even better.
"No, moron. Well, yeah, actually, I guess we do have to go to our room to put our stuff away first, but after that!"
I sigh. "Change, beach, guys."
"Yes! God, I love beach guys. They're so...beachy." She laughs and flips her brown-highlighted-blonde hair over her shoulder. "I don't know why you insist on sticking with guys from boring Indiana. I would much rather have a guy from Florida than Indiana." Stephanie hates our home state. She says the second she turns 18, she's packing up her stuff and moving to New York.
"Call me crazy, but I actually like some guys back home. And speaking of guys from back home..." I trail off as I see Zach, my current crush, walking back toward us.
"Oh my goodness gracious," Steph mutters. She pulls out her eyeliner and a compact mirror and ignores Zach.
"Hey Cassidy," he says, smiling at me.
"Hey Zach!" I reply, full of pep.
He glances down at Steph. "Hey skank."
"Hey dick." Steph replies in monotone. I hit her arm. "What? He is."
"Whatever." Zach rolls his eyes. "So, Cassidy. I was wondering. Once we get to Florida, you wanna hang at the beach with me? I bet we could get a mean volleyball game together. And you could help me organize all my stuff in my room." He winks.
"Sure! I'd love to play volleyball and hang out on the beach, that sounds really fun." I purposely leave out the part about going to his room. I know where he's going with that, and I'm not interested.
He takes the hint. "Well, okay then. It's a date." He flashes a heart-stopping smile and goes back to his seat.
I sigh. I'm about to say something to Steph about how dreamy he is, when the bus comes to a sudden halt.
"ALRIGHT! FIFTEEN MINUTE BREAK!" calls the bus driver. "HURRY!"
We all line up and get off the bus. There's a long line for the bathrrom, and I end up being last. Before I leave the gas station, I check out some of the stuff they have. Snowglobes, t-shirts, purses, teddy bears, everything. Apparantly we're in Georgia. I yawn, stretching my arms, and turn to go back to the bus. I step outside and the sun hurts my eyes. I don't see anyone I know or hear any familiar voices. I look around for Steph or Kelly or Zach or somebody, and when I don't see them, I realize it, and my stomach drops.
The bus is gone.
